Secret Ceremony, our dedicated film club, is debuting a new curated programme. Welcome to the TAROT SERIES.
We promise this season is as sultry and supernatural as our last… after all, Secret Ceremony is where the aesthetic meets the esoteric. Each of our film selections channel the energy and mood of a card from the tarot’s major arcana, and first up is THE LOVERS.
To honour THE LOVERS, we’re showing Jim Jarmusch’s gothic vampire stunner, Only Lovers Left Alive, in partnership with The Cardi Gallery.
The film will be screened in Cardi’s historic Mayfair premises alongside their latest exhibition, and paired with an exclusive tasting from wine educator and personality Amelia Singer, who will match each wine to a character in the movie.
For an evening of cinematic decadence purchase tickets here (tixs include entry + film screening + wine tasting)
SCREENING: Only Lovers Left Alive (2013)
Come for romance, stay for the tipple
Only Lovers Left Alive is the atmospheric story of Adam and Eve, two centuries-old vampire lovers who see the modern world as desolate and decaying.
Adam (Tom Hiddleston), a still-famous but depressed musician, reunites with Eve (Tilda Swinton) in Detroit. However, their cultured existence of ennui is disrupted by the arrival of Eve’s wild and uncontrollable younger sister, Ava (Mia Wasikowska). The film explores themes of mortality, art, and the enduring nature of love amidst societal collapse.
