The fourth screening in our TAROT SEASON, and the first since our blockbuster sell-out event for the summer solstice, SECRET CEREMONY is back in September with a film dedicated to THE WHEEL OF FORTUNE card.
We’ll be screening Endless Poetry, directed by cult auteur and author, Alejandro Jodorowsky. A film that truly displays the meaning of free-wheeling spirit, that enters into the dance of life, fortune, destiny and art in a sublime and uncanny way, this screening will be an ode to letting the fates guide you, leaning in and trusting the winds, rolling the dice and seeing where you land.
The screening will include live performances by two equally inspiring poets. Sebastian Wiener is a poet working between London and West Sussex, whose writing is led by the senses, with the aim of escaping anthropocentric structures of thought. His first pamphlet ‘V (Valley)’ was published by Reference Point this year. Ellana Blacher has won 30 awards for writing across poetry and screen, she’s spoken on poetry at McGill and TEDx King’s College London, and her work is studied at several Canadian universities. Her poetry collection ‘HAUNT’ is coming soon.
SYNOPSIS: Endless Poetry (2016)
Through Alejandro Jodorowsky's autobiographical lens, this poetic retelling of his youth in Chile examines how he liberated himself from all former limitations - and from his family - and was introduced into the foremost bohemian circle of 1940s Chile. As he spins through the city, he meets Enrique Lihn, Stella Díaz Varín and Nicanor Parra, young promising but unknown poets, who would later become the titans of 20th-century Hispanic literature.
Jodorowsky was inspired by the beauty of existence and exploring life, authentically and freely. Endless Poetry is an ode to the quest for inner truth as a universal force capable of changing one's life forever, written by a man who has dedicated his career to creating spiritual and artistic awareness.
